I don’t care about fashion. That doesn’t mean I don’t know how to dress myself, I just mean that I generally don’t pay attention to the fashion industry. I don’t follow designers, couldn’t care less about New York Fashion Week, hell, I’m even behind on trends. I even wonder if haute couture has any real purpose aside from just because. Brand me a Philistine, if you will.

But I do appreciate artistry when I see it. Whether it’s a painting, sculpture, photography or a gown made out of glass medical slides.

Gaga's Workshop 2011 →

Intrigued by the project (okay maybe a little obsessed), I’ve since come to consider it a “case study” of sorts in creative development and execution across a variety of media. I admit, maybe I’ve over analyzed it to some degree, but when a project captivates my imagination, and given the opportunity, I’ll spend hours searching for concept art, sketchbooks, notes, blueprints and anything else I can get my hands on. I want to know how something progresses from the faintest glimmer of an idea to its ultimate realization.
